Our heart goes out to all of those in Puerto Rico affected by hurricane Irma… It was such an incredible time exploring the beautiful island and all it had to offer. From the gorgeous cliffside oceans, to the lush green Rain Forest and of course one of the most breathtaking beaches in the world…. Culebra. Kiara and Jose are some of the sweetest and most caring people you will ever meet, and photographing their wedding was truly an unforgettable experience.

From The Bride… 

We spent almost 2 years planning this wedding since I was still in school and didn’t have much free time. Needless to say we hired our amazing wedding planner, Nilseny Acevedo who helped us tremendously through the entire process. Since the beginning I knew I wanted an outdoor venue for the wedding, what we call in Puerto Rico an “hacienda”; Hacienda Campo Rico in Carolina, P.R. caught our eye and we didn’t have to look any further.

I had 3 elements in my mind to describe my perfect wedding: colorful but not too much, romantic but modern at the same time and elegant but still free and refreshing. With these ideas in mind I searched for a wedding theme and I came across with the term “elegant bohemian” and that’s how I described it from then on. I wanted bright, beautiful and colorful flowers and Intic (floral designers) delivered exactly what I had in mind. For our wedding cake we didn’t want the big, tall, traditional, wedding cake so we opted for a series of small cakes with different heights, designs, textures and flavors, a true masterpiece created by C+M Cake Designers.    

We wanted the day to echo our lives together- to feel relaxed, easy, full of laughter, music and good food.  We were surrounded by our closest friends and family and we wanted to make sure that it was not only the most special day to us but also that everyone would have an amazing day. We’re both very much so ‘behind the scenes’ type of people, and so even though we were a little bit nervous to be up front and center in front of everyone, we felt extremely happy, at peace, and only focused on each other.
