From the bride…
Ryan & I met on my birthday. It was actually a birthday I wasn’t too excited about since I was trying to navigate a lot of huge hurdles in my life. I decided to go out last minute with just a few people to a bar. We had some drinks and I sat myself on a railing outside when I felt someone sit literally on my finger. I looked up and said “You just sat on my finger.” Little did I know it would be this blue eyed dimple smirking hunk. In my mind I thought wow you can sit on my finger any day! Ryan left with my number that night and I left with a future husband. Fast forward two years we grew our relationship on a mutual love for adventure. Ryan planned a surprise Birthday trip for me to Colorado which was amazing. We hiked at Rocky Mountain State Park. While we didn’t make it to the overlook Ryan dreamed of due the trail conditions (snow literally got up to my knees and I was only wearing Vans…oops), we did get to a scenic spot where Ryan set up a photo shoot as we normally do but this time he dropped down on one knee. I walked back down the mountain with a fiancé. We spent the next year planning what became our dream wedding. Intimate, different, boho, and earthy vibes exploded all over our day. We were eloping to the magical Bolt Farm Treehouse in Walhalla, SC. Apparently Hurricane Florence wanted to join us. What do you actually do when a hurricane is heading to your dream wedding? Well, we had a few meltdowns, became meteorologists, rearranged some plans and flights, and flew to our elopement. I was fully prepared to take our own wedding photos and stuff our faces with cake under a cheap last minute purchased amazon umbrella. As you can see, that didn’t happen. Our elopement was beyond perfect and all the stars aligned for us that day. It was everything we dreamed about & more. My bride journey hit some hurdles for sure but sometimes you have to sit back and let it be. You can’t fight with Mother Nature 🌬
