From the bride…
From the moment we got engaged, Jake and I knew that we wanted to be married as soon as possible. We decided that we wanted to have a short engagement and an intimate, traditional wedding ceremony at a small chapel surrounded by family and friends. We were both studying for our law school final exams when we set our wedding date for only four months from the proposal! Our wedding day was a warm mid-June afternoon at a quaint chapel in Windermere, Florida. We wanted to embrace, in the aesthetic of the ceremony and reception, the ambiance of a slow summer afternoon stroll through a garden. Our color scheme featured gold accents, countless white flowers, and lush greenery. The bridesmaids and groomsmen wore light blue dresses and navy suits. After a beautiful ceremony at the First Baptist Church of Windermere, we held the reception in my parent’s lush, green backyard. For the reception, we installed beautiful chandeliers above two long wooden tables covered in dark green plants and floating candles. Two Spanish guitarists played soft music while dinner and desserts were served to our small, intimate group of family and friends. We will soon celebrate our first anniversary, and I still think about and cherish every moment of our big day. It was perfect.
